Obituary of Allen Watson

WESTVILLE-Norman Allen “Al” Watson, 82, Westville, formerly of Six Mile Brook, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, he was a son of the late Norman and Gertrude (Graham) Watson. Making furniture was his life passion. His life dream came true, when he built and ran the Brookside Camp Ground in Six Mile Brook. Al enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. Surviving are his partner, Beverley “Bev” Kenny; sons, Peter(Bea),Earltown; David(Shantha)Manotick,Ont.;Kevin(Afshin),Paris,France;daughter,Shelley(Sandy)Langille,Denmark;step-daughter,Gail Roussy, New Glasgow; step-son, Robert “Bobby” Kenny, Trenton; daughter-in-law, Karen Watson, Truro; ten grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; sisters, Roxie (Sid)Whitman, Fredericton, NB; Shirley Burns, Trail, B.C.; Flora(Barry)Blauvelt, Floral City, Fla.; Jean Watson, New Glasgow ;sister-in-law, Darlene Watson, Scotsburn; numerous, nieces ,nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son, Brian; siblings, Helen Wallace; David; Neil; Virginia and Ronald in childhood. The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in P. & K. MacDonald funeral home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Gary Tonks, presiding. Interment will be at a later date in Gladstone Cemetery. Donations may be made in “Al’s” memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
