Obituary of Derek Anthony Leger

STELLARTON\CAMPBELLTON, N.B. - Derek Anthony “Tony” Leger, 41, Stellarton, N.S. formerly of Campbellton, N.B., passed away peacefully Friday, August 2, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by his family. Born in Campbellton, N.B., he was a son of Derek and Simone (Mercier) Leger, Campbellton, N.B. He was a long haul trucker who has been coast to coast several times working with different trucking companies. Tony was employed with Ray Murphy Trucking. He enjoyed snowmobiling, trucking, motorbikes and spending time with his family. Tony was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Surviving besides his parents, are his common-law wife of 10 years, Melissa Pellerine; sons, Ben, Chris and Dave, all at home; brother, Dave (Bev) Leger, Glencoe, N.B.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6 in P. & K. Mac Donald Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 7 in the chapel, with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Family Flowers only. Donations may be made in Tony’s memory to IWK Health Centre Foundation.
