Obituary of Katherine Kennedy Brennan
NEW GLASGOW – Katherine Kennedy Brennan, 85, New Glasgow, died Monday, April 2, 2018, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Cleve and Sarah (Kennedy) Munroe. Katherine grew up in Egerton, attended New Glasgow High School, worked as a supervisor for Zellers in the Maritimes and Quebec before marrying Elliott, and moving to Plymouth. Katherine was a member of Churchville Women’s Institute, TOPS, Seniors Card Club, First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton and proud in her achievement of being a canvasser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation for 35 years.
Surviving are sisters, C. Maud Smith, Stewiacke; Margaret (Robert) Chittick, Dartmouth; brother in law, Stanley Hingley, New Glasgow; sister-in-law, Wilda Munroe, Egerton; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elliott; brothers, John and James in infancy; sister, Janet Hingley; brother-in-law, Harold Smith.
The family will receive visitors 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday April 4, 2018 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday April 5, 2018, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to her nieces Carol, and Stella, ‘you were a gift from God’.
