Obituary of Lynda Carolyn Murray

NEW GLASGOW – Lynda Carolyn Murray, 78, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 10. 2021 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow after a lengthy illness. Born in Upper Musquodoboit on January 21, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Reuben and Estella May (Dean) Woodin. Lynda taught school in Lorne and Hopewell for a number years before joining her husband Norman to operate the Blue Acres Irving Car Wash and later the Irving Garage restaurant in Salt Springs. Following they purchased the Grant Street apartments and opened a fashion boutique, I.D. Fashions in New Glasgow, which Lynda operated for many years. Lynda and Norman shared 58 years living together and throughout her illness was her “caregiver extraordinaire”. The bonds of love forged in life, eternally bound. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Norman; daughter, Angela (Stephen) Stewart, Toronto, Ont.; son-in-law, Glenn Scott, Stellarton; grandchildren, Ross Stewart, Cameron Stewart, Tyler Scott and Kyra Scott (Justin MacRae); sisters, Faye (John) Logan, Upper Musquodoboit; Molly Dean, Middle Musquodoboit; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Dan) Pitts, Stellarton; Beverly (Orest) Luka, Clairmont, Alta.; Linda Murray, Hopewell; Leola Woodin, Upper Musquodoboit; brothers-in-law, Ernest (Evelyn) Murray, New Glasgow; Roy Murray (Linda), Pictou Landing; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, who died when she was four years old, she was predeceased by her “second parents”, Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle George MacLean; daughter, Sherry Scott; sister, Karen (Brian) Canning; brothers, Russell (Shirley) Woodin, Elwyn Woodin; brother-in-law, Clyde Dean, John Logan; nephews, John Woodin and Morley Dean. Linda’s family wish to extend their sincere appreciation to her wonderful Nurse Practitioner, Cara Stewart; Dr. Marion MacDonald, Dr. Colleen O’Sullivan, Dr. Alwin Jeyakumar and Dr. Edgar Chedrowy. Her two “great Aberdeen internists”, Dr. Irman Hack and Dr. Chukwunonso Ufondu and especially, her special helper in time of need, Carla Williams.
