Obituary of Brayden Mark Ross
ROSS, Brayden Mark - age 18, Barney’s River, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 16th, 2018 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, with his loving parents, Mark and Marie, and his true love, Melissa, by his side.
Brayden was born on June 15, 2000 in New Glasgow, a son of Mark and Marie (Anderson) Ross, Barney’s River. He was a 2018 graduate of North Nova Education Center and had been a proud member of the North Nova Gryphons hockey and rugby teams where his quick wit and sense of humour often shone through. Brayden loved life and surrounded himself with good friends. He enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend Melissa, family and “the boys”. He especially enjoyed joking around with his younger brothers and the companionship of his dog , Maizie. Over the past six months Brayden fought a difficult, yet valiant battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. His spirit and determination to get well were unwavering during this time. With each new challenge faced, he fought harder, encouraged by a wonderful, supportive community. Brayden was grateful and humbled by the love and support shown to him and his family throughout his illness.
Surviving besides his parents are brothers, Cole and Ryan; true love, Melissa Robertson, Lismore; paternal grandparents, Rob and Wendy Ross, Barney’s River; maternal grandmother, Betty Anderson, Plymouth; aunts, Kristi Chisholm, Barney’s River; Megan (Brad) Bell, The Ponds; Vanessa (Brody) Paton, Saint John, N.B.; uncles, Tyler (Natalie) Ross, Sutherland’s River; Daniel (Harlen) Anderson, Japan, and Devin Anderson, New Glasgow; numerous grand-uncles, grand-aunts, great-uncles, great-aunts, and many cousins.
He was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Fred Anderson.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Barney’s River Presbyterian Church, Kenzieville with Rev. Bonita Mason officiating. Interment will be in Glen Bard Cemetery, James River.
