Obituary of Howard Allan John Malloy
NEW GLASGOW - Howard Allan John Malloy, 60, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Thomas Arthur Malloy and Mary Susanna (Malcolm) (Malloy) Simpson. Howard was employed in the Wheel and Axel Department of the former Trenton Works for 32 years. He also worked as a bricklayer with his brothers. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. Howard enjoyed music and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Joan Marie (Rector); sons, Howie (Melvin) Malloy, Leo Lohnes, Dartmouth; Wayne (Trina) Lohnes, St. John’s, N.B.; daughter, Tammy (Richard) Breen, New Glasgow; sisters, Patricia “Pat” (John) Morrison, Westville; Ann Rhodes, Trenton; Ina Baker, New Glasgow; brothers, Thomas “Tom” (Karen) Malloy, Westville; Mike (Darlene) Malloy, Linacy; Dennis (Florence) Malloy, Trenton; Reuben (Jane) Malloy, Westville; Robert (Bessie) Simpson, New Glasgow; Meryl Jordan, Westville; several aunts, an uncle; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step-father, Robert Edward Simpson; a brother in infancy; grandnephew, Brandon; several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7th and, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9th in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson presiding. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
