NEW GLASGOW – Violet Theresa “Vi” Wilkinson, 82, New Glasgow, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John and Jessie (Chisholm) Wilkinson. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. Prior to retirement, she had been employed with Glen Haven Manor for 15 years and with the former Coffee Pot for 30 years. Vi enjoyed watching the Price Is Right, playing Bingo and scratch tickets. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, Vanessa and Cole. Surviving are her daughter, Valerie (Sam) Anderson, Kings Head; grandchildren, Vanessa (Glen MacIntosh), Fox Brook; Cole (Emily Morton), Kings Head; sister, Margaret “Rita” MacDonald, New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Betty Curley, Frances MacDonald; brother, Robert Wilkinson. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson presiding. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
