Obituary of Nicole Juliette Jones
NEW GLASGOW – Nicole Juliette Jones, 85, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Morisset. Nicole was a graduate of the University of Paris at Sorbonne, France and studied at the University of Montreal. She had been employed as a Virologist Technician with three hospitals and the Institute of Microbiology in the Montreal. Following, she was as a legal translator with McGill University, the Government of Canada and the Insurance Institute of Canada. She translated the book, “We were not the Savages” for Daniel N. Paul to French. Nicole enjoyed her time working with Radio Canada as a contributor in the field of Virology. She was a former member of Mensa Canada and had written many unpublished works. Nicole enjoyed a quick wit, wonderful sense of humour in many languages and the joy of learning, especially astronomy and the universe.
Surviving are her husband, of 60 years, Raymond W.; daughter, Cathy (Jose), New Glasgow; son, Peter A., New Glasgow; sister, Christiane Morisset Anderson, Sainte-Adresse, France; niece, Ann, France.
In honour of Nicole’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately. Donations may be made in Nicole’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society. (please click to donate.)
