Obituary of John Edmond Kitson

STELLARTON – John Edmond Kitson, 82, Stellarton, passed away, Thursday, December 6, 2007 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Thomas Richard and Bertha Mae (Heighton) Kitson. He had been employed as a miner and security guard with the former Acadia Coal Company, and as a personal care worker with the Riverview Adult Residential Centre, Riverton. Surviving are his daughter, Linda (Tupper) Willett, MacLellans Brook; brother, Irving (Lois) Kitson, Salt Springs; grandsons, Jeff, Trevor, Mike and Martin; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Spencer; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Laura and Lillian in infancy, Jean Ward, Dorothy Killen; brothers, George, Tom and Clarence. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Saturday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow where memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Interment will be in Christ Anglican Church Cemetery, Stellarton. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
