NEW GLASGOW – Raymond Eugene “Bish” Sheehan, 76, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday, September 15, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Daniel Eugene and Mary Ann (King) Sheehan. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. Prior to retirement he was employed with the former Trenton Works and in earlier years was employed at the former Cameron and Fraser Limited. He and his late wife, Gloria, enjoyed spending time at their Dryden’s Lake camp. Surviving are step-sons, Ronald Alexander (Audrey) MacDonald, Riverview, N.B.; George Allan (Nancy) MacDonald, Antigonish; Robert John “Bob” (Agnes) MacDonald, Lorne; Darrell Anthony “Cook” (Cheryl) MacDonald, Black Falds, Alta.; sisters, Frances Thompson, Trenton; Dolly (Vince) MacDonald, Greenwood; Elizabeth Millen, New Glasgow; sister-in-law, Vivian Sheehan, New Glasgow; brothers, Doug (Mary), Gordon, David (Betty), New Glasgow; Angus (Carol), Ontario; Papa Bish’s step grandchildren, Evelyn, Sheri, Rannie, Traci, Julie, Andrew, Robbie, Samantha, Leah and Melissa; Papa Bish’s step great-grandchildren, Richard, Sean, Jack, Cullen, Johna,Celeste, Spencer, Marisa and Emily; niece, Lynn (Art) MacLean, New Glasgow; nephew, Phillip (Sherry) Sheehan, New Glasgow; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the love of his life, wife, Gloria Shute (Arbuckle) (MacDonald); sister, Katherine in infancy; brother, Daniel. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson presiding. Cremation to follow with interment of ashes in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only.
