Obituary of Thelma Kathleen Jamieson

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C./STELLARTON - Thelma Kathleen “Kathy” Jamieson, 50, Fort St. John, B.C., formerly of Stellarton, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 20, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Elsie (Coady) MacDonald, Island East River and the late Gerald Jamieson Sr. She was employed as a personal care worker with North Peace Care Center, Fort St. John. Previously she had been employed with Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, entertaining family and friends and most of all, spoiling her grandchildren and pets. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Surviving are her husband, Paul Walker; daughter, Heather (Darryl) Johnston, Fort St. John; sons, Gerald (Kelly) Jamieson, Fort St. John; Joshua Walker, Fort St. John; grandchildren, Gracyne, Drayton, Lillian and Eden Johnston; Madison and Abigail-Katie Jamieson; sisters, Betty (Larry) Davidson, Grande Prairie, AB.; Colleen (Charles) MacDonald, Fort Nelson, BC; Helen Jamieson, Grande Prairie; brother, Jerry (Mary) Jamieson, Stellarton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her father, Gerald Sr., she was predeceased by sister, Roseanne Jamieson; stepfather, Calvin MacDonald; mother-in-law, Lillian Acker and both sets of grandparents. The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Monday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Stellarton. Donations may be made in Kathy’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
