Obituary of John Alfred Chickness

STELLARTON – John Alfred Chickness, 51, Stellarton passed away peacefully Monday, November 19, 2012 at home. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of John and Hazel Chickness, Stellarton. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and also enjoyed fly tying, camping and taxidermy, anything to do with the outdoors in general. Surviving besides his parents, John and Hazel, are his daughter, Maggie May Chickness (Stephen Brown), Clayton Park; brothers, Terry (Susan) Chickness, New Glasgow; Robert (Debbie) Chickness, Trenton; sister, Darlene (Randy) Tucker Stellarton; Shelly (Jasper) Fraser, Plymouth; nieces and nephews, Darryl Chickness (Melody MacQuin), Marlene Chickness, Halifax; Jason Chickness (Nancy Stanton) Digby; Michelle Freckelton (Alex), Trenton; Allison MacNutt (Matt), Deanna Tucker, Stellarton; Jared Tucker (Lindsay Walker), Halifax; special nephews, Dillon and Nick Fraser, Plymouth; special friends, Wade Quinn, Paul Villeneuve, Les DeYoung. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Nov. 21 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22 in the Chapel with Rev. Aiden Kingsbury presiding. Interment will be in Mount William Cemetery. Family flowers only.
