Obituary of Melvin Wallace Dobson
BRIDGEVILLE – Melvin Wallace Banford Dobson, 57, Bridgeville, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at home.
Born in Truro, he was a son of the late John and Ruth (Smith) Dobson. Melvin was a burner technician and a beef farmer, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and telling tall stories.
Surviving are wife, Cynthia O’Connor; daughter, Nicole Dobson (Travis Patterson), Sunnybrae; sons, Blair (Nicole MacKenzie), Glencoe; Orrie (Angela Darroch), Westville; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Jordan, Travis, Wyatt, Penny and Maggie; sisters; Penny Dobson, Thorburn; Janet (Gordie) Brown, New Glasgow; brothers, Benny (Arlene), New Glasgow; Timmy, England; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Melvin was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Daly Thibodeau; nephew, John.
The family will receive visitors 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 19th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 20th in the chapel with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock officiating.
