Obituary of Mary Matilda Sanford
WESTVILLE - Mary Matilda Sanford, 74, Westville, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in St. Peter's, she was a daughter of the late Robert John and Catherine Marion (Munroe) Morrison. Mary was employed with Wear Well Garments for many years. She was a great cook who enjoyed knitting and spending time with her cats. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her daughters, Karen Martin, Ontario; Pamela "Pam" Sanford, Vancouver; sons, Darrell, Abbotsford, B.C.; Steven (Chrystal), Bridgewater; sisters, Bernice (Gerald) Thorneycroft, St. Georges Channel; Roberta (Kevin) Penney, Sydney; Carole (Benny) MacInnis, Port Hawkesbury; brothers, Donald "Bud" (Linda) Morrison, Truro; Bobby (Beatrice) Morrison, St. Peter's; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a special neighbor, Mary Ellen Sinclair.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Joan Fleury, Charlotte "Dook" MacDonald and brother, Fred Morrison.
There will be no visitation by request. A private family service will be held Monday, in P & K MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr.Glen Matheson officiating.
