Obituary of Grace Louise Fisher

NEW GLASGOW - The family of G. Louise Fisher announces her passing on December 22, 2017 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Louise was born in Liverpool, raised in Milton, the daughter of the late Donald W. and Grace (Nickerson) Payzant. She moved to New Glasgow in 1959 with her family. Louise was an elementary school teacher at Temperance and A. G. Baillie schools and an accomplished nationally-recognized bridge player. She left the teaching profession to raise her two children, but continued to play and teach bridge for the rest of her life. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness and her gentle spirit, and she will be much missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Ralph; daughter, Amy Fisher (Sean O’Neill); son, Aaron Fisher; brother, John (Gina) Payzant; and her two cats Kitty and Carlotta. In honor of Louise’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately. Donations in Louise’s memory may be made to the Pictou County SPCA or to a charity of your choice.
