New Glasgow – Flora Jean Boates, 81, New Glasgow passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Rumley) Boates. Flora loved playing cards, crocheting, knitting, playing bingo and shopping. She is survived by cousins, Karen Paschal (Dennis Darroch), New Glasgow; Florence (Jim) Delorey, New Glasgow; Tom (Lee) Russell, Dartmouth; numerous cousins and relatives. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, April 9th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow, where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 15th in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery. Donations may be made in Jean’s memory to any charity of choice.
