NEW GLASGOW - Jannette MacKenzie, 70, New Glasgow, passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family and friends. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Gordon and Audrey Florence (MacBain) MacKenzie. Jannette was a very positive person, who enjoyed life and laughter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed playing cards, going to yard sales and collecting ornaments. Surviving are her partner, Royce Trefry, Anderson's Mountain; daughter, Joyce (Laurie) Acker, New Glasgow; sons, Scott (Belinda Annand), New Glasgow; Dwayne, Stellarton; sisters, Judy (Bob) MacLean, Springville; Jean (Dave) Strain, Grand Bend, Ont.; Marion (Sandy) MacIntosh, New Glasgow; brothers, Jack (Audrey), St. Thomas, Ont.; Allister, Cambridge, Ont.; grandchildren, Dawn (Steve), Alissa, Emma, Abi, Ty, Kale, Casia and Tristan; great-granddaughter, Jenna; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to the Children's Wish Foundation.
