Obituary of Bertha M. Gaudet
LINACY – Bertha Mildred “Penny” Gaudet, 83, Linacy, formerly of Merigomish, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Reid) McGee. Prior to retirement in 1994, she had been employed with the Royal Bank of Canada for 42 years. Penny was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed watching curling. She was an awesome mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her daughter, Michele Gaudet, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Ky Gaudet, Halifax; Nick Gaudet, New Glasgow; daughter-in-law, Tammy (Noade) Gaudet, New Glasgow; sisters, Sheila MacDonald, New Glasgow; Jeannie McGee, Antigonish; brothers, Mike McGee (Marie Comeau), Ecuador; Dennis (Gail) McGee, Westville; sisters-in-law, Marsha McGee, Edmonton, Alta.; Sandra McGee, Merigomish; Marie McGee, Cambridge, Ont.; cousin, Sandy (Carolyn) Reid, New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by son, Darren; son-in-law, Darrel O’Neil; brothers, Frank, Jack and Pat; sister-in-law, Peggy McGee; brother-in-law, Bill MacDonald.
In keeping with Penny’s wishes a private graveside service will be held.
