RIVERTON - Emilie Kathrine Lindblad, 93, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the Villa. Born in Thisted, Denmark, she was a daughter of the late Kristian and Karen (Poulsen) Birkholm. Surviving are sons, Flemming (Gillian) Ajax, Ont; Hasse (Susan) Plymouth, N.S.; Erik (Michelle) Duncan, B.C.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl; son, Karl; granddaughter, Cathy; three sisters and three brothers. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. There will be no funeral service by request.
