MERIGOMISH – Margaret “Meg” Edna Fife, 62, Merigomish, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a furious battle with cancer.

At the age of 16, Meg came to Nova Scotia to attend the former Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Truro. Following, she moved to California, and later returned to Franklin, New Hampshire to take over the family dairy farm. In the early 90’s, she relocated to Nova Scotia to assist her parents with the farm in Merigomish and be “Meg”. She loved her community and was a willing volunteer in whatever capacity needed. Meg could be regularly found in her “truck office” at the Merigomish Community Center parking lot, enjoying the Wi-Fi hotspot and chatting with whomever stopped by. She travelled extensively between homes in New Hampshire, Drumhead and Merigomish to spend time with family and friends. Meg had a fondness for animals, driving the back roads and especially, swimming at Big Island and Tor Bay. Meg was passionate about life.
