Obituary of Mary Viola Langille
NEW GLASGOW – It is with great sadness the family of Mary Viola Langille, 90, Valley View Villa, Riverton formerly of New Glasgow, announce her passing on Sunday, November 22, 2020 in the Villa with her son James by her side.
Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Annie Catherine (MacLean) Lloyd. In younger years, Mary had been a schoolteacher in the Gairloch and Plainfield one room schools. She was an avid flower gardener, cook and baker. Following the birth of her daughter, Beth, in 1966, she became a fulltime caregiver until her passing in 2005. Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who possessed a quick wit and leaves a rich legacy of hard work, selfless devotion and boundless love.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Langille, New Glasgow; sons, Jim (Irene) Langille, Mount William; Brian (Karen) Langille and Kevin Langille, Plainfield; Terry (Ferne) Langille, Meadowville; Darrell Langille, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Candace, Paul, Craig, Troy, Angela, Dana, Dawn, Jeremy, Jonathan, Ryan, Elizabeth, Lawrence, Jason and Kiersten; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Garvin, Trenton, Ont.; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Gordon Langille; daughter, Beth; son, John Colin; grandchildren, Amy Marie and John Burton; brothers, John, Harold, Clarence and Thomas Lloyd.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes a private graveside service will be held in West Branch Cemetery.
