Obituary of Edna Therese Chisholm

BAILEY’S BROOK – Edna Thérése Chisholm, 89, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Bailey’s Brook, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in the manor, surrounded by family. Born in Bailey’s Brook, she was a daughter of the late Colin Cameron and Mary Catherine (MacGillivray) MacInnes. Edna was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore. Prior to retirement, she was employed with the Lismore fish plant for many years. Edna enjoyed attending local card parties, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her friends. She possessed a strong faith in her Lord, which was demonstrated through her love of children, family and others. Surviving are her husband, Archibald “Archie”, Bailey’s Brook; daughters, Stephanie (Dan) Jukich, Burnaby, B.C.; Carmel Chisholm (Jim), Bailey’s Brook; Carol Lea (Bruce) Farrell, Brookville; Krista Chisholm (Hubert), Sussex, N.B.; sons, Ford (Patsy), Cornwall, Ont.; Glenn (Linda), Merigomish; Colin, Toronto, Ont.; sisters, Wilma Burke, Bailey’s Brook; Gussie MacInnes, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow; brother, Collin R. MacInnes, Grimsby, Ont.; foster brother, James Harpell, Bible Hill; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Bradley; sisters, Goldie MacLean and Carmel MacDonald; foster brother, Gerry Harpell. The family will receive visitors 1-1:50 p.m. Thursday Dec 3rd in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Cremation to follow. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Edna’s memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
