Obituary of Daniel Sebastian Arsenault

TRENTON – Daniel Sebastian Arsenault, 18, Trenton, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 7, 2018 at home. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of Kenny and Lynn (Landry) Arsenault, Trenton. Daniel graduated from North Nova Education Centre in 2018 and was currently enrolled as a returning graduate. He was an enthusiastic and loyal supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and was sure they would “win the cup this year”. Locally, Daniel proudly cheered for The Crushers attending every home and most away games. He was a poster child for Muscular Dystrophy Canada and was well-known by firefighters throughout North America. In 2005, Daniel greatly enjoyed his family trip to Walt Disney, Florida that was granted to him by The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, creating memories that would last a lifetime. His infectious smile warmed the hearts of all those he met. Daniel was his family’s hero, always so positive and reassuring to others that “everything will be okay”. He was wise beyond his years, teaching his family and friends valuable life lessons. Daniel’s joy of living was amplified at Christmas, which he will celebrate this year surrounded by the love of heaven, now looking down on us as our newest guardian Angel. Surviving besides his parents are sister, Rebecca Arsenault, Trenton; brother, Tommy Arsenault, Trenton; maternal grandparents, Jean and Alfred Landry, North Sydney; paternal grandmother, Ella Fahey, Westville; best friend, Hunter MacDonald, Trenton; several aunts, uncles and cousins. His “fur siblings”, Chloe, Bella and Willow. He was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Ken Arsenault. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11th in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson presiding. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Daniel to Muscular Dystrophy Canada or The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada.
