Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Grant

NEW GLASGOW - Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Grant, 60, New Glasgow, formerly of Trenton and Thorburn passed away, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at home. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late James Hector and Mary Elizabeth (Wallace) Grant. Betty was the operator of the former Betty’s Laundromat in Stellarton and Hillside. She was a friendly, outgoing lady, who was very generous to others. Betty possessed a distinctive, lovable personality and will be dearly missed by all those who love her. Surviving are siblings, Jim (Sharon), Tom (Louise), Calgary, Alta.; Isabel (Lonny) Rask, Whitecourt, Alta.; Donald (Cathy), Sutherland’s River; Shirley (Buddy) Savoie, Lower Barney’s River; Katherine (John) Grasse, Geary, N.B.; Joyce (Andrew) Dupuis, Trenton; boyfriend, Kenneth Burke, New Glasgow; nieces, Lisa, Vanda, Gwen, Krista-Lee, Allison, Amanda, Alisha, Kaitlyn and Savannah; nephews, Joey, Derrick, Aaron, Daniel and Jamie; several grandnieces and grandnephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her common-law husband, Johnny Boutlier; sister, Donna; brothers, Joseph in infancy and Frank. The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Friday June 5 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday June 6 with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Thorburn. Donations may be made in Betty’s memory to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or Pictou County Food Bank.
