Obituary of Donald Francis Walsh
NEW GLASGOW – Donald Francis Walsh, 61, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Mary Alice (Davidson) Walsh, Westville and the late James Robert Walsh. Donald was a crossing guard at Acadia Street School for the past five years and previously had been a driver with The Advocate for many years. He enjoyed fishing and model building. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving besides his mother, Mary, are his wife of 39 years, Jo-Anne (Riggs); daughter, Sandra (James) Brown, Beuna Vista, Virginia; grandchildren, T.J. and Xavier; sisters, Hazel (Donald) Chisholm, Sylvester; Theresa (Sandy) Miller, Hamilton, Ont.; Mary Ann (Lowell) Lee, Westville; Dorothy Walsh, Stellarton; Margie Walsh, Hamilton; brother, Charlie (Maureen) Walsh, Hamilton; sister-in-law, Diana Walsh, Westville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, James, he was predeceased by brother, Robert.
The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. Saturday, May 31 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. with Archdeacon Peter Armstrong presiding.
