Obituary of Anges Mccumber

THORBURN - Agnes Macumber, 84, Thorburn passed away peacefully Friday, January 4, 2013, in Valley View Villa, Riverton. Born in Isaac Harbour, Guysborough, she was a daughter of the late Angus Stewart and Mary Moore. She had worked in various places over the years, Lismore Seafood’s, KFC and Frenchy’s. Agnes was a member of the Thorburn Friendship Group. She enjoyed yard sales, visiting people, sewing, knitting, hunting, trout fishing and the outdoors. Agnes was a loving mother, grandmother, great–grandmother and friend. Surviving are her daughters, Kay Duggins, Mary (Harlan) Simpson, Lower Barneys River; Nellie (Pat) Evans, Calgary, Alta.; son, Alfred Macumber, Toronto, Ont; sister, Isabel Dean, Stellarton; brother, William “Billy” MacLeod, Thorburn; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Alfred Macumber; son, Murdock Macumber, sister, Esther McInnis; brother, Robert “Bobby” MacLeod; grandson, David Duggins; son-in-law, Nelson Duggins. The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. and 6- 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan 9th in the chapel with Rev. Pat Rose officiating. Interment will be in Woodburn Cemetery, Woodburn. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Agnes memory to any charity of choice.
