Obituary of Eva Gertrude Jack
NEW GLASGOW - Eva Gertrude Jack, 81, New Glasgow, formerly of Stellarton, passed away, Monday, June 9, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, USA, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Harriet May (Sinclair) Dignan. Prior to retirement she was employed as a dispatcher with the Stellarton Police Department and in private home care. She was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton. Eva enjoyed hunting, fishing, baking and knitting.
Surviving are her husband, William Lorne "Bill" Jack Sr.; daughter, Janette (MacLaren) Campbell, Stellarton; sons, George (Brenda) MacLaren, Beaver Bank; Charles MacLaren, Alex (Myla) MacDonald, Stellarton; Bill Jr. (Jennifer) Jack, New Castle, Ont.; brother, Scott (Betty) Dignan, Halifax; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Phyllis Bolton and Joan Lamey; brothers, John L. Cameron and Roland Dignan.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. A reception will follow in the Stellarton Fire Department.
