Obituary of Debra Ann Beaton
ABERCROMBIE – Debra Ann “Debbie” Beaton, 65, Abercrombie, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Gilbert and Mary Elizabeth (Hawboldt) MacKeigan. Prior to retirement, Debbie had been a schoolteacher at Walter Duggan Elementary School. When she received her diagnosis in August 2021, her one wish was to remain in her home with her loving husband, Larry – a wish he was able to fulfill.
Debbie was grateful to her sister, Susan, who “always had her back” and brother, Pat and sister-in-law, Donna who “were always there for her”. She will always be a “mountain girl” as her friends will fondly remember. Debbie wished to thank “the girls from school” for their friendships and has requested that they “smile when they think of me”.
Surviving are her husband, Larry Beaton; step-daughters, Sonya (Brad), Tanya (Tony), Jennifer (Murray), Heather and Meagan; grandchildren, Nick, Bradley, Bradisha, Jaiden, Mitchel, Maiah, Kaleb, Kaber, Logan, A.J., Ryder, Bauer, Carmen; great-grandson, Nicholas; sisters, Susan; brother, Pat (Donna); nieces and nephews, Craig (Lisa), Chris (Hillary), Kirk (Kris), Willis and Hannah; grand nephews and niece, Liam, Carter, Hayden, Greyson and Chloe; aunts, June and Dorothy; uncles, Richard (Francis) and Paul (Sharon); Albert Watters.
