Obituary of Charles Anthony Ward

NEW GLASGOW - Charles Anthony “Charlie” Ward, 64, New Glasgow passed away peacefully Saturday August 8, 2009 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his wife Robin and friend John Doudelet by his side. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Charles and Dollena (Feltmate) Ward. Charles was a well known and passionate musician playing with several bands locally and across Canada for many years. He enjoyed working as an auto body mechanic and restoring old cars. He loved music, Gibson guitars, sports especially boxing and baseball and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, New Glasgow. Surviving are his wife of 37 years Robin MacNeil-Ward, brothers G. Aulden Brooks, Greenhill; Oakley J. Brooks, Belleville, Ont; nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous good friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Joyce Baker. There will be no visitation or service by Charlie’s request. A musical celebration of Charlie’s life will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made in Charlie’s memory to Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or charity of one’s choice. A special thanks to our family and friends, Dr. Aloke De, Dr. Gerry Farrell and the entire Palliative Care Team, Robin’s co-workers and everyone at the Aberdeen Hospital who helped Charles in so many ways.
