Obituary of Ann Rogene Newell

Ann Rogene Newell, 80, New Glasgow passed away peacefully, Friday, January 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Manassette Lake, Guysborough Co., she was the daughter of late Charles Thomas and Dorothy Ann (Carter) Greencorn. Prior to moving to New Glasgow, she had been employed at National Sea Products. Ann was a loving mother who sought the best for her family. Ann was proud to be a fisherman’s daughter, enjoyed music and shared many of her stories with her family either on the phone or visits. For Ann “Life has changed; not ended.” Surviving are her children, Sheila Fagan, Sylvester; Elizabeth Pettipas, Wallace; Melvin Newell, Timberlea; Dorothy Newell, Canso; Robert Newell, St. Margaret’s Bay; Gloria MacIntosh, New Glasgow; grandchildren, James, Mathew, Amber, Monica, Evan, Christopher, Katelyn, Samantha, John, Dylan, Jessica, Lelend, Karley, Cameron; great-grandchildren, Blake, Bryer; siblings, Carmen Greencorn, Annabelle England, Freddie Greencorn, Betty Spears, David Greencorn, Bernice Greencorn; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Douglas; sisters, Eviva Greencorn and Eva England. A service will be held in All Saints by the Sea Parish, Canso with interment in the parish cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank Truro and Halifax Dialysis Teams, the VON and Palliative Care in New Glasgow.
