Obituary of Lavina LeVangie
NEW GLASGOW – Lavina "Vina" LeVangie, 100, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, died peacefully, Sunday, September 2, 2012 in the Manor.
Born on March 22, 1912 in Lundy, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (DeGruchy) Manette. She expressed her Christian faith through gentle kindness to all she met. Vina’s 100 years were well-lived and characterized by her warm and gentle nature. Her enduring legacy will be the unconditional love she gave to her family. To those who loved her, she was a gift. Her memory will always be treasured.
Surviving are her son, Raymond (Marjorie) LeVangie; granddaughter, Lynne (Craig) Davey; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Rachel Davey; chosen daughter, Judy LeVangie; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, George Isaac LeVangie; sisters, Mae, Helen “Ella”, Jenny and Julia; brother, Louis “Buddy”.
The family will receive visitor’s 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A private graveside service will be held.
