Obituary of Eileen Greta Kyle

TRENTON – Eileen Greta Kyle, Trenton, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital as the result of an accidental injury. Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Alexander Newton and Mary Greta (Brown) Cahoon. Eileen was a faithful member of the former Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton. Prior to retirement, she was employed in the business office of the former Maritime Tel & Tel for 30 years. Eileen was treasurer of Christ the King Cemetery for 36 years and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed weekly bowling with the Pioneer League until a few years ago. Eileen greatly enjoyed the company of her cat, Puss. Family was most important, she was a loving mother and an extremely proud nanny of her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, whom she loved and supported any way she could. Eileen cherished her many friendships and was only too glad to help any way she could. She possessed an enduring faith in God and now enjoys the promise made to her. Surviving are her daughter, Elsa; granddaughter, Megan (Alan); grandson, Shaun (Michele); great-granddaughter, Lennon Kyle; sisters, Edith and Elsa; sister-in-law, Dorothy; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas; sister, Rita; brothers John in infancy, Arthur and Jewel; son-in-law, Gordon. The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Father Thomas MacNeil presiding. Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Trenton.
