Obituary of Richard Bedford Bennett
NEW GLASGOW – Richard B. “Dick” Bennett, 83, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Scotsburn, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Wallace Bridge, he was a son of the late George Frederick and Margaret Bell (Card) Bennett. In earlier years, he was employed in Ontario. Upon return to Nova Scotia, he operated a service station in New Glasgow for a number of years. He was a good worker and could “turn his hand to do almost anything”. Dick greatly enjoyed being a farmer and owned a Jersey dairy farm in New Annan and most recently, a sheep farm in Four Mile Brook. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Surviving are his son, Mark, Ontario; a grandson; brother, Walter, Wallace Bridge; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Edith, Alice, Blanche, Irene, Phyllis and Vera; brothers, Lyman, Stewart and Lloyd.
Dick’s final wishes will be honored.
