Allison, Andrew and families, So sorry to hear the sad news about your mom. She truly was a special lady who always had such a positive attitude, even when times were tough. She will truly be missed. She must be looking down on us with a smile on her face, because I don't remember ever seeing her without one! May that smile warm your hearts at this difficult time.

My deepest sympathies to Shirley's entire family. I had the pleasure of working with Shirley and knew first hand of her love and commitment to her profession and her patients. She knew the joy of grandchildren and that is a true blessing.

Alison, Andrew, your Mom was a terrific lady and it was a privilege to know her. She always made me feel so welcome and helped make Pictou County my second home. She was so very proud of you both and nothing gave her greater joy than watching you both get married and start families of your own. I wish I could be there with you during this difficult time but know that you and your entirely family are in my thoughts and prayers, take care. Eryn

Alison, Marc, Andrew, Chrissy and other family members and friends: We all know the day will come but the death of a loved one leaves us in grief and we grieve for your family in your time of sorrow. Although no words can really help ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in our thoughts and remember that the sorrow you feel in your hearts be lightened somewhat by the love that surrounds you.

So very sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She was a great neighbor (I lived next door to Grant's for 30 plus years), and a good friend. My deepest condolences to Allison and Andrew, grandchildren and her close friends who were like sisters to her. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Deepest sympathy to Alison, Marc, Andrew, Chrissy and families. There are so many people hurting today because of Shirley's passing, she was a loyal, kind and beautiful person. Aud, Jeannie, Millie and Shirley included me in their many get-togethers and I was honoured to call Shirley my friend. She made so many people feel so special and even in her lowest times, she was concerned about other people, she really raised the bar of what a really good person should be, love and miss you, Bernadette Scott
