Obituary of Shirley Ann Foster
STELLARTON – Shirley Ann Foster, 76, Stellarton, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Walter B. and Daisy Bell (Russell) Brown. Earlier in life, Shirley bred and raised Poodles. In recent years, she fell in love with Yorkies and treasured her little Yorkie, Kobi. She loved animals and greatly enjoyed drinking tea and reading. Shirley enjoyed going for drives and camping. She was an excellent seamstress and created numerous unique articles of clothing and other items.
Surviving are her daughters, Darlene (Kerry) Skidmore, New Glasgow; Kym Foster (Neil), Stellarton; sons, Timmy (Kay) Brown, Lansdowne; Billy Foster, Florida; Tony Foster, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Heather (Doug), Eddie, Linda, Andrew (Tina) and Steven; great-grandchildren, Brady, Lucas and Hayden; brother, Lawrence (Marge) Brown, Ontario; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, William Oliver “Bill” Foster; granddaughter, Rebecca; sister, Dorothy; brothers, Robert and Eddie.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at Shirley’s request. Donations may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Pictou County SPCA or Aberdeen Health Foundation Palliative Care Endowment. (Click on underlined charity to donate online)
