Obituary of Hugh Jerome MacDonald

ARDNESS – Hugh Jerome “Hughie Jerome” MacDonald, 76, New Glasgow formerly of Ardness, passed away, Monday, July 23, 2012 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Hugh Angus and Annabell MacDonald. Prior to retirement, Hughie Jerome had been employed in the construction, forestry and fishing industries. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore. Surviving are his sister, Marie Swan, Port Hope, Ont.; brother, Charles S. MacDonald, Sterling Heights, Michigan; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Marguerite Bird; brother, Henry MacDonald. The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 27th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28th in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Interment will be in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bailey’s Brook. Donations may be made in Hughie Jerome’s memory to Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, RR #1, (125 Ardness Road) Merigomish NS B0K 1G0.
