Obituary of Dorothy May Mills
NEW GLASGOW – Dorothy May “Dot” Mills, 92, High Crest Place, New Glasgow, formerly of Priestville, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 in High Crest Place.
Born in New Glasgow, the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was a daughter of the late Ashley George and Margaret Elizabeth (Malcolm) Watts. Dorothy lived in Priestville most of her life until moving to High Crest Place in 2007. Although very tiny in stature, her smile, sense of humor and abundant energy was immense. Always the caregiver, she unselfishly put others before herself. Dot was independent, self-motivated lady who possessed a resilient spirit. She cherished spending time with her family and was proud of all their accomplishments. To those who knew Dot, she will also be fondly remembered as the “expert shopper”, as she possessed the ability to find a bargain anywhere. Dot’s legacy will be her unwavering love for her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Debbie (Harold) Williams and granddaughters, Andrea and Hannah, Park Falls.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Margaret, Harriet, Jean and May; brothers, Jackie, Weldon and Harry.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A private funeral service will be held with interment in Priestville Cemetery.
