Obituary of Georgena Rebecca Cameron
NEW GLASGOW – Georgena Rebecca "Nena" Cameron, 86, New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Blue Mountain, she was the eldest daughter of the late John Peter and Christine Robertson (Ross) Stewart. Georgena was a school teacher for 15 years, teaching in various schools throughout Pictou County, retiring in 1962. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow and the Salvation Army Home League, Westville.
Surviving are daughter, Janice Rogers (Jack Falconer), Truro; sisters, Alice (Vernon) Magee, Sutherland’s River; Diane (Stewart) Wright, Riverton; brothers, Raymond (Eileen) Stewart, Blue Mountain; Murray (Mary) Stewart, Thorburn; Morten (Amy) Stewart, Canning; grandchildren, Jennifer Wolfe (Spencer Cook), Red Deer, Alta; Douglas Rogers, Halifax; Joshua Rogers (Jenna Tinling), Truro ; great-grandson, Elliott Wolfe; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Tuesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
