Obituary of Jeanette Nora Binns
NEW GLASGOW / SYDNEY – Jeanette Nora (Reid) Binns, New Glasgow, formerly of Sydney, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax.
Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Clementine and Nora (Ivany) Reid. Prior to moving to New Glasgow, 20 years ago, she was a member of St. Alban's Anglican Church, Whitney Pier, where she had taught Sunday school and worshipped faithfully. She had been employed with the former General Instruments Plant, Woolworths and Cosmo Club, Sydney.
Surviving are her partner of 32 years, Allan “Gob” Paris, New Glasgow; sons, Jim (Laurie), Dana (Nancy), Sydney; daughter, Tanya (Ken) Craig, Sydney; grandchildren, Tyler, Teagan, Doryan, Zachary, Colton and Ryan; sister, Babs Bynoe, Montreal; brother, Jim Reid, Gatineau, Que.; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Ethel, Phyllis and Gladys; brothers, Gill and Sonny.
The family will receive visitors 12 – 12:50 p.m. Monday, December 20th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney, at a later date.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to Second United Baptist Church, New Glasgow.
