Obituary of K. Dianne MacGillivray

LISMORE – Kathryn Dianne MacGillivray, 63, Lismore, passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late George Henry and Mary Ellen (MacKenzie) Hayman. She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore and a former member of the Altar Society. Dianne was active with the Lismore Community Centre and Merigomish and District Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Merigomish Mixed Dart League, former member of the Wednesday Morning House Wives Bowling League and Lismore Sun Risers Soft Ball Team. Surviving are her husband, Donald Jerome “Donnie” MacGillivray; daughter, Tracey MacGillivray, Moncton; son, Ron MacGillivray, Lismore; grandchildren, Ashley and Dalton; sisters, Mary (John) White, New Glasgow; Barbara (Fraser) King, Egerton; Margie (Howard) Atwater, Fraser’s Mountain; brother, Hughie, Calgary, Alta.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased infant son, Fraser Donald; sisters, Christine, Myrna; brothers, Fred, Webb, Johnny and Vic. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to the Karen Lynn MacDonald Allergy Awareness Society, Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Pictou County VON.
