Obituary of Diane Claire Stewart

MCLELLAN’S BROOK – Diane Claire Stewart, 73, McLellan’s Brook, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Sadie Gladys (Rutledge) Stewart. In earlier years, Diane was employed as a waitress, serving at the New Glasgow Pub and with her daughter, Anita, at the A & T Dinner, Westville, from where she retired in 2006. She was a member of St. Georges Anglican Church, New Glasgow and a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, New Glasgow. Diane loved her family and being surrounded by a “house full”. She will be dearly missed by those she loved, especially, her fur baby, Clarabell. Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Everett Smith; daughters, Susan McIntyre, Sylvester; Nicole (Tom “Slick”) Atwell, New Glasgow; sons, Lee (Donna) McIntyre, New Glasgow; Chris Lumsden, New Glasgow; step-son, Alson Smith, Sunny Brae; Everett (Amanda) Smith Jr., Kentville; grandchildren, Laurie, Tyson, Kennedi, Tyler, Devon, Reagan, Stephen, Sherry and Dukus “Dukie”; step-grandchildren, Makayla, Nathan, Haley and Paige; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Chloe, Taylor Dawn, Kylie, Jade, Zoey, Paige, Connor, Jillian, Cejay, Cheyenne, Anna and Mack; sisters, Doreen (John) Anderson, Little Egypt Road; Deborah (Raymond) Anderson, Little Egypt Road; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Anita McIntyre. In honour of Diane’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
