Obituary of Wayne Edgar Smith

NEW GLASGOW - Wayne Edgar Smith, 48, New Glasgow formerly of Toronto passed away suddenly at home, Sunday, July 7, 2013. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of Iona (Donaldson) Kenny, New Glasgow and stepfather, Alex Kenny, Churchville; and the late Charles Smith. He was a painter and maintenance supervisor for years at Toronto General Hospital. Wayne enjoyed fishing and tying flies. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, nephew and friend. Besides his mother, Iona and step father Alex, he is survived by his brothers, Oral Smith, Little Harbour; Gregory “Greg” Kenny, Churchville; sister, Bonnie Westaway, Port Hawkesbury; step-sisters, Jean (Myles) Stevenson, Whitehill; Delores (Greg) Johnson, Springville; Nancy (Willie) Ingenemson, Westbranch; Karen Kenny (Alan Hache), Eureka; step-brothers, Lloyd (Jane) Kenny, Whitehill; Robert (Kathy) Kenny, Irish Mountain; nieces, nephews, great-nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his father, Charles he was predeceased by his sister, Cheryl MacKay, nephew, Joseph ”Joey” Conway. There will be no visitation by request. A public graveside service will be held 11a.m. Friday in Gladstone Cemetery, Four Mile Brook with Rev. Keith Hazzard officiating assisted by Rev. Barry Jack.
