Obituary of Robin Terrance Dawe
SALT SPRINGS – Robin Terrance Dawe, 54, Salt Springs, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of Gretchen Audrey (Grantmyre) Dawe, Urbania and the late Frederick Alonzo Terrance Dawe. He graduated from the Maritime Forest Ranger School, Fredericton in 1975. Robin was employed with the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources as a Conservation Officer and Dog Master. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Church, Salt Springs. Robin enjoyed constructing log homes and all forms of carpentry. He enjoyed nature, music, playing and coaching hockey and baseball. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving besides his mother, Gretchen, are his wife, Judy (Cameron); daughters, Amy (Jamie) Miller and children, Jack, Zoë, Jade, Nine Mile River; Jessie Dawe (Mathew Ross), Halifax; son, Jake (Cassie Bell) and daughter, Layla, Salt Springs; sister, Krista (Dan) Dawe-Hines and daughter, Liza, Urbania; brothers, Michael (Dorothy) and son, Tal, Rines Creek; Mark (Sandi) and children, Carrie and Kenzie, Lantz; Joel (Kim) and sons, Lucas and Gregor, Brookfield; mother-in-law, Pearle Cameron, Urbania; several aunts and uncles; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his father, Frederick, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Bill Cameron.
The family will receive visitors 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 17th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 18th in St. Luke’s United Church, Salt Springs with Pastor Michael Simmons presiding.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Robin’s memory to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Canadian Cancer Society or the Pictou County VON.
