Obituary of Henry Ferdinand Coady

ABERCROMBIE - Henry Ferdinand Coady Sr., 89, Abercrombie Road passed away Friday August 21, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Frederick Michael and Mary Eleanor (Delorey) Coady. In his early years Henry worked as a coal miner in various Pictou County mines including the Alan Shaft, MacGregor, and McBain. He also worked at the former Hawker Siddeley until his retirement. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Lillian (Best); daughters, Treen (Joe) O’Laney, Plymouth; Jean (Don) Bent, Abercrombie; son, Henry Coady Jr., Moose River; sisters Kathleen “Kaye” Gratto, Greens Point; brothers, George (Pearl) Coady, Abercrombie; Colin “Duke” (Edith) Coady, Stillwater; Alvin (Rita) Coady, Trenton; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces , nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Linda Marie; brothersl Ralph and Jack. There will be no visitation or service at Henry’s request. A private family service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honour Henry’s memory may do so by spending special time with a loved one or helping someone in need.
