Obituary of Muriel M Polley
NEW GLASGOW – Muriel M. (Spears) Polley, 78, New Glasgow, formerly of Little Harbour Road, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Halifax on April 4, 1936, she was a daughter of the late John and Winnifred (Moore) Spears. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, doing crossword puzzles, being with people and helping whomever she could. Muriel was a poet and had several of her works published. She cherished spending time with her family and being with her friends at Autumn Crest. Muriel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving are her daughters, Marilyn (Lloyd) Hanson, Trenton; Nancy (Wade) Russell, Abercrombie; Patty Polley, New Glasgow; Cathy Fraser, Thorburn; sons, Roy (Jerry), Churchville; Russell (Diana), Sylvester; John (Jennifer), Little Egypt; Eric (Joy), Little Harbour Road; brother, Gerald (Donna) Spears, Pictou; sister-in-law, Kay Spears, Halifax; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Eric Franklin Polley; daughter, Jean Marie; two sisters in infancy; a sister in childhood; brothers, Don, George, John and Pat.
The family will receive visitor’s 1-1:50 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Archdeacon Peter Armstrong and Rev. Aidan Kingsbury presiding.
