Obituary of Shirley Eleanor Kellock
CHANCE HARBOUR ROAD, TRENTON – Shirley Eleanor Kellock, 80, Chance Harbour Road, Trenton, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 10, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow after a lengthy illness.
Born in New Glasgow on July 13, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Charles William and Mary Olive (Fraser) Barnett. Shirley was a PCW, having been employed with Valley View Villa, Riverton for over 13 years, as well as providing private care for many appreciative clients. She was well known for her baking and preserves which were in demand by her many family, friends and neighbors, especially her fruit cakes and relishes.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Gordon F. Kellock; children, Cavell Feeney, New Glasgow; Susan (William) Booth, Hatchet Lake; Derek (Alla) Kellock, Surrey, B.C.; grandchildren, Ryan Feeney, Shea Feeney and Cameron Kellock; sister, Alice MacKenzie, New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Marcella (Donald) MacLean, Jean (Earle) MacLean, Anne (John) Baillie, Marie (Wayne) Currie, Doris (Robert) Worthen and Patricia (Carl) Cooke; brothers, Willard, Fraser (Nancy), James, Douglas, Kenneth and George “Blackie” (Peggy).
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 12 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 13 in the chapel with Rev. Hallett Llewellyn and Rev. Karen MacKay Llewellyn officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Trenton.
The Kellock family wish to thank Dr. Jeans-Mingo, Dr. Craig and the nursing staff of the Aberdeen Hospital fourth and fifth floors. Shirley’s family is deeply appreciative of the loving care provided by Peggy Barnett.
