Obituary of Lisa Fay Murphy
PICTOU LANDING ROAD – Lisa Fay Murphy, 49, Pictou Landing Road, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Ellen L. (Legere) Murphy, Pictou Landing Road and the late Donald C. Murphy. Fay was employed for many years in retail and enjoyed life to the fullest. Her family was foremost in her life. Fay was a “second mother” to her adoring nieces and nephews. She was a resilient person who was always there for those she loved.
Surviving besides her mother, Ellen, are sisters, Sylvia (Wade) Cosh, New Glasgow; Lori (Linda MacLeod), MacLellan’s Brook; Kelli Murphy, Halifax; brothers, Donald (Adele), Trenton; John “Jack”, Pictou Landing Road; Kevin (Arlene), Tuktoyaktuk, N.W.T.; nieces and nephews, Tara, Sallie, Jeff, Lindsay, Ethan, Brooke and Ava; aunts, Helen McInnis, Stellarton; Vinie Butler, Maritime Odd Fellows Home, Pictou; Sylvia (Bob) Hawboldt, Churchville; many cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Donald.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23 in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
