Obituary of Helen Bernice Casey
NEW GLASGOW – Helen Bernice Casey, 94, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Pictou and New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2007 in the Manor.
Born in Caribou River, she was a daughter of the late Ethel Stiles. In earlier years, she was a camp cook for the former Matheson Brothers Lumber Company, Pictou County and for 13 years with York Farms, Brantford, Ont. She enjoyed flower gardening and animals.
Surviving are her daughters, Bernice (Ken) Peach, Halifax; Evaline MacNeil, New Glasgow; sons, Milton (Jean), Stellarton; Graham (Yollande), Antigonish; William “Bill”, Kenny (Frances), Calgary, Alta.; Eldred, Murray River, P.E.I.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great, great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Thomas Casey; son-in-law, Mike MacNeil.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Captains Jim and Debbie Sinclair officiating. Interment of ashes will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Stellarton.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army or Pictou County SPCA.
