Obituary of Annie Marie Horton
PICTOU LANDING ROAD – Annie Marie Horton, 90, Pictou Landing Road, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Flora (Chisholm) Murphy. She was a member of First United Church, Trenton and had served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Marie was co-owner and office manager for the former Horton’s Esso, Hillside. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put her family first.
Surviving are her sons, Tom (Carol), Pictou Landing; Bill (Doll), Pictou Landing; foster daughter, Aichetou Mint Elize, Africa; grandchildren, Tom Jr., Wayne, Sheldon, Shawn, Thérèse and Bill Jr.; great-grandchildren, Mark, Justin, Mikaela, Tapanga, Talia, Matthew and Tabrina; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Selvester; sister, Elizabeth; brothers, John, Henry, Donald and Harold; grandson, Douglas Mark.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1st in the chapel with Rev. Debra Orton officiating.
No flowers by request. Donations may be made in her memory to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 835 East River Road, New Glasgow, NS B2H 3S6.
