DURHAM – James Albert Guthro, 62, Durham, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at home surrounded by the love of his family. Born in New Glasgow, James had been a manager of Jeld Wen Windows and Doors, Gananoque, Ont. Through out his life, he “wore many hats”, working in construction and as a backyard auto mechanic, especially, painting. James was most content when working in his gardens or talking about gardening. Moving to Durham, he relished the quiet of the early morning, fishing in the river below his home. James will be remembered as “the guy who would go out of his way to help another”. Surviving are his wife, Monique Suzan (Braniff) Guthro; daughters, Jacqueline Guthro (Jeremiah), New Glasgow; Samantha Guthro (Ali Helba), London, Ont., Christine and Lisa; son, Joey Guthro, Rouyn, Que.; grandchildren, Ameer, Nadia, Kylie, Samantha, Owen, Mason, Joshua, Kyanna, Ayden and Jennifer; sisters, Debbie MacKay and Joyce Drew, Ontario; Judith Guthro, Virginia; brother, Vernon (Paula) Guthro, Stellarton;; several nieces and nephews. James’ family will celebrate his life privately. If desired, donations may be made in memory of James to his family.
